To the Editor:
I thank Dr. Coppola et al for their comments on my article “Squeezer—a new device for vitreoretinal surgery.”1 In their letter to the editor, Dr. Coppola et al confirm that the Squeezer has several advantages over conventional injection by syringe, such as good ergonomics, improved handling, and a more controlled injection. One of the major advantages they cite is that when using the Squeezer for staining the retina with dyes, the injection jet is never uncontrollably forceful, thus considerably reducing the risk of retinal damage. I fully agree and have tried to express this in my brief article by writing that the Squeezer enables perfect control of the injection in terms of the start and speed of the injection and the amount of injected liquid.
