Abstract

The impact of the Occupational Choice Strategy (OCS) on the career development of clients in a comprehensive rehabilitation center was examined. Participants (n = 20) in OCS scored consistently higher than did control subjects (n = 20) on career decidedness, vocational identity, vocational self-awareness, vocational knowledge, and readiness for vocational planning. OCS participants were also more likely than control group members to persist in their rehabilitation programs.
