Abstract

Previous research has indicated that attitudes can affect the quality of nursing care given to a specific patient. The purpose of this study was to determine if nurses working in acute-care and intermediate-care areas have different attitudes toward spinal cord injury patients than rehabilitation nurses.

Mrs. Leinart is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and is a Board Member of the 5th District of the Illinois Nurses Association. She has several years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, primarily in intensive and coronary care units.
