Management of shivering during surgery is an essential part of the perioperative process as it can reduce risk of many negative patient postoperative outcomes. Although multiple reviews of antishivering medications have been completed, there are few guidelines on nonpharmacological method practices, which work by preserving or restoring body temperature above the shivering threshold or masking the central shivering reflex via warmed skin sensory input.
