Many patients undergoing a total hip arthroplasty (THA) experience intraoperative/postoperative blood loss, leading to anemia, sometimes to the point of necessitating a blood transfusion. This study examined the effect of intraoperative, low-dose infusion of epinephrine as a coagulative agent capable of stemming intraoperative and early postoperative blood loss.
