Abstract

(Abstracted from Crit Care Med, 44:54–63, 2016)

The rapid response system (RRS), or rapid response team (RRT), was established to improve access to critical care resources and rescue patients who might experience harm because of delayed care. Although many US organizations have strongly advocated for the RRS, the literature provides conflicting evidence regarding its efficacy.
