This systematic review of opioid-induced hallucinations (OIHs) is essential because there has been a progressive increase in the use of opioid therapy for both cancer and noncancer pain relief. Medical providers of varying backgrounds and medical specialties are increasingly prescribing opioids for pain, which can lead to adverse effects and a significant risk of overdose.
