Abstract

summary

Anterior knee pain is a common complaint from athletes of all ages and skill levels. Currently, there is a shift in the treatment paradigm from quadriceps-dominant strength training to more focus on the proximal muscles of the hip because they functionally control the femur. This article discusses relevant anatomy and biomechanics, as well as provides useful exercises for strength and conditioning or rehabilitation professionals to implement into their programs.
