Abstract

The most common current methods for stabilization of medial malleolus fractures include lag screws, tension band wire, and suture anchor. This article describes a unique technique for open treatment of medial malleolus fractures when comminution is present. In such situations, we often use 2 cannulated AO screws and a Kirschner wire, which provides a sound and routine way of dealing with this surgical entity.
