Abstract

ABSTRACT

Mitomycin-C (MMC) is a chemotherapeutic agent that has become widely used in ophthalmology over the past 2 decades. Its uses in various corneal disorders range from treatment of pterygium and corneal intraepithelial neoplasia to the more recently described modulation of corneal wound healing after excimer laser surface ablation. This article will describe the various indications and techniques of MMC application in corneal refractive surgery.
