Abstract

The authors describe a simple and reproducible surgical technique, which allows full view of the scleral fixation of a posterior chamber intraocular lens implant. When using the finger-crafted technique, in addition to having good control of the path of the needle that reaches the ciliary sulcus with precision, the surgeon will be able to use his other hand for instruments, including an endoscope. The authors also describe how to fixate the IOL haptics without running the risk of extruding the suture, in a simple, quick, and reproducible manner.
