Abstract

Within the context of demands of value for money and a renewed focus on the relationship between education and employment, there has been a reinvigorated interest in teaching and learning within universities. Set within the organisational change literature and the learning organisation approach in particular, this paper presents a case study in how one institution – the Royal Melbourna Institute of Technology, RMIT – responded to these calls. The case study outlines both the strategies pursued, together with the results both for students and the organisation's staff of the renewed focus on teaching and learning.
