Abstract

Various aspects of the nutrition care program at Calvary Hospital that have been implemented to alleviate the symptoms so frequently associated with advanced neoplastic disease are described. These interventions focus on nurturing both the physiologic and psychologic needs of the patient with advanced cancer. Recognition of the significance of food as distinct from diet is essential in the delivery of nutrition care because food is more than nutrition.
