Abstract

SUMMARY.The article by Basnayake and Easterbrook on variation of global estimates for HBV, HCV and HIV co-infection is a comprehensive study of cited World Health Organization (WHO) estimates in the literature between 2010 and 2014. The authors reviewed 488 articles published during this period and showed that a wide range of estimates have been quoted using different WHO estimates, and they attempt to set the record straight by listing the most recent/appropriate WHO estimates that should be used going forward.
